WQOW in Eau Claire, Wisconsin is seeking applications for a Technical Media and News Producer position. Responsibilities include directing newscasts, editing video, and fill-in news producing.
JOB EXPERIENCE
This role involves operating various technical equipment, such as switchers, audio boards, and playback devices, ensuring a high level of on-air product quality, including managing video and audio levels. Collaboration with reporters, anchors, and other production staff is essential, as is the ability to create graphics and other visual elements. The position also requires troubleshooting technical issues and maintaining studio equipment, along with other assigned duties.
REQUIREMENTS
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary, along with the ability to work effectively under pressure and adhere to deadlines. A knowledge of news production workflows and the ability to embrace new technology are a must. Training is provided and likely necessary for an applicant with the right aptitude and technical skills. While not mandatory, a bachelor’s degree in communications, broadcasting, or a related field is preferred. Any offer of employment is contingent upon successful background screening.
