JOB EXPERIENCE

KVEO is looking for a candidate to forecast the weather for the weekend newscasts on our CBS and NBC stations. The candidate will also report on the latest news from SpaceX Starbase three days a week. KVEO has an exclusive partnership with a YouTuber who specializes in SpaceX. The candidate will work closely with the YouTuber to host a weekly digital SpaceX show.

Produces and presents weather reports for all platforms.
Produce and present in-depth weather explainers.
Write, shoot, and edit at least two SpaceX stories a week.
Host a weekly SpaceX digital show.
Writes web stories detailing the local forecast or SpaceX reports.
Interacts with viewers and users on social media sites.
Participates in promotional activities including public appearances.
Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Requirements & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
Fluency in English.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written and the ability to ad-lib when required.
Superior on-air presence.
Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to effectively listen to fully understand problems and communicate with a team to shape a solution.
Strong understanding of forecasting and SpaceX.
Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
Flexibility to work any shift.
Other duties as assigned
