Job Summary/Description:

We are looking for a creative Videojournalist/Multi-Media Journalist to join our award-winning news team. The ideal candidate can shoot, write, and edit stories for newscasts and operate live equipment for our morning reporter. Must be able to grasp new technology, troubleshoot technical issues, and communicate well with others. This is not an on-air position, but this Videojournalist will do more than just shoot video. He/she will be required to contribute news ideas and independently cover stories as directed by management, including breaking news, meetings, sports, and general assignments.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

– Strong videography, editing, and technical skills.
– Writing content as needed under the supervision of producers or management.
– Must be able to work independently, sending content back to the station, and be willing to handle multiple assignments.
– Able to fill in as video editor, assistant producer, or any other capacity as needed.
– A general understanding of news on every platform is a plus.

Qualifications/Requirements:

– A BA/BS degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field is preferred for this position.
– Prior professional experience working in news media is preferred.
– Ability to work effectively under deadlines and in breaking news situations.
– Excellent communication skills and ability to take direction from others.
– Able to work a flexible schedule that includes early morning hours and being on-call.
– A valid driver's license and good driving record.
