  • Job Description

Video Editor gathers and edits footage from multiple sources for newscasts, sports, and other programming.

 

  • Additional Job Description
    • Ingests, records, organizes, converts, uploads/downloads video from multiple sources to edit for newscasts/breaking news
    • Selects and combines the most effective shots of each scene to form a logical, and smoothly running story for VO/VOSOT’s/PKG’s
    • Reviews reporter stories to determine whether corrections are necessary
    • Tackling post-production tasks such as titling, color correction, audio correction, basic graphic knowledge
    • Able to work independently, but also work closely with producers, photographers, and other personnel to discuss assignments and decide what works best for that story, newscast, and our overall product
    • Maintains editing equipment
    • Performs other duties as assigned

JOB EXPERIENCE

  • Proficiency editing in Adobe Premiere Pro; Adobe Suite experience is a plus
  • Experience with iNews/ENPS, Bitcentral or similar programs are a plus
  • Must be able to cut VO/VOSOT’s/PKG’s
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously while paying close attention to details
  • Performs well under pressure and ability to problem solve

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree or minimum two years’ experience
  • Fluency in English
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written; must be a team player and able to take direction
  • Knowledge of local, national, and international current events
  • Brings story ideas to the table and helps think of creative ways to showcase stories
  • Flexibility to work any shift
