Have you always had a knack for problem-solving? Are you the type of person who enjoys being hands-on? The Technician Engineer plays an imperative role as the go-between resource for the engineering team and the location’s personnel. What you can expect working as a Technician Engineer:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- To work with a team focused on meaningful relationships
- A high-energy environment
- A chance to work on a team supported, influenced & lead by some of the Broadcast Industry’s leading innovators
- Provide support in the management of Servers, Network Security and Network Services
- PC/Mac hardware/software support of on-site installing, servicing and repairing workstations
- Assist with video equipment set-up and maintenance
- Assist Engineering with Transmitter and Master Control maintenance
- The possibility of unexpected and/or late-night calls for engineering-emergencies at the station
- Assist with LAN and WAN related hardware and software maintenance
- Develop knowledge of facility specific IT needs and assist in supporting these systems
- Support and assist the News department in maintaining must-have for live production
- Implement, install & maintain engineering systems and provide end-user support across all departments
- Provide transmitter support
- Replace or adjust defective and/or improperly functioning equipment
- Perform physical inventory of equipment
- Maintain digital telephone system
Requirements:
- Associates degree or higher in IT, electronics or computer related field
- 2-4 years of related broadcast experience
- Strong familiarity with Microsoft, Mac
- Knowledge and competency in core hardware and computer system technologies, including installation, configuration, diagnosing, preventive maintenance and LAN/WAN Networking
- Excellent communication skills
- Familiarity with Avid related software and hardware products a plus
- Ability to lift 40-50 lbs
