We constantly strive for excellence. Through upgrading to the latest technology and seeking new ways to stay on top in our markets, we focus on training and development of the best and brightest employees in the business.
About WITN:

We produce 43.5 hours of news per week and deliver content on a 24/7 basis through our digital platforms. We’re in the rapidly growing Greenville/New Bern/Washington DMA, with bureaus in New Bern and Jacksonville. We serve Beaufort, Bertie, Carteret, Craven, Duplin, Greene, Hyde, Jones, Lenoir, Martin, Onslow, Pamlico, Pitt, Tyrell, and Washington counties. WITN is the dominant station in the market.
Job Summary/Description:
We are seeking a timely, dependable, motivated individual to join our broadcast operations team, bringing programming and live local news to our viewers. You will work behind the scenes, in an all-digital production/master control environment using Harris ADC Automation, the Ross Overdrive Production System, along with Vizrt graphics and ENPS. Flexible schedules are a must, as we deliver content around the clock.
This Technical Media Producer position fully encompasses the roles of master control operator and director. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: program acquisition, processing, QC checking, tuning satellite downlinks, and managing programming playlists through Air Client & automation software. Operators also maintain hourly transmitter logs, note discrepancies in programming/break inventory, and troubleshoot as needed. In addition, you will publish content to WITN’s digital platforms.
A key responsibility includes directing live newscasts using the Ross Overdrive system. This includes pre-coding shows in ENPS, as well as executing them to an error-free standard using Overdrive. This will require excellent computer skills with a good sense of visual and audio integration. Maintaining focus on multiple aspects of a show for extended periods, while checking ahead and being familiar with the rundown, will be required for success. The director leads, communicates, and cues talent to have them exactly where they need to be at all times. Quick reaction time and the ability to perform well under tight deadlines are both essential.
At times, working a rotating schedule may be required, including overnight, early morning, and weekend shifts, along with filling in for others when needed.
Please note – the primary job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the information listed above

– Individuals should be meticulous, with an ability to acquire new skills quickly and apply them across a broad range of scenarios
– Ability to remain focused and on task, without direct supervision, is required
– Must be comfortable with the continually changing landscape of broadcast technology, including adapting to new equipment and workflows routinely
