Do you want to write, lead and be part of something bigger than yourself? 12 News, the NBC affiliate in Phoenix, is looking for a Senior Digital Content Producer.
Our digital content team is called "The Herd" and we deliver!
We account for roughly 80 percent of overall content on the 12 News digital platforms and 100 percent of the breaking news. There’s a lot of opportunities for original content and building digital extras. It’s a job that you will get out of it as much as you put it into it.
Responsibilities:
- Managing the coverage in one of our dayparts, making sure that our digital coverage isn’t just up-to-the-minute, but also up to high standards.
- Write stories, produce graphics, stream and clip videos.
- Coach reporters and fellow digital producers in helping plan our coverage. If you like being part of the answer to “What’s next?,” than this job is for you.
- Provide excellent story judgment, outstanding news judgment and the ability to work with digital and broadcast folks to create singular products.
- Possess the ability to embrace the spirit of continuous improvement, be comfortable with giving and receiving constructive critique and be an animal when it comes to consuming news.
JOB EXPERIENCE
3-5 yrs
REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM:
- At least 3 years working in a newsroom
- The ability to pass times writing and style tests
- A degree in journalism, communications, digital media or the equivalent work experience.
- Experience managing projects or people
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience managing projects or people
- A track record of improving products and creative thinking
- Experience with video editing and graphic-building tools
- A dislike of the Oxford comma
