Job Summary/Description:

Team player. Organized. Aggressive with sports coverage. A leader. WBTV is searching for its next, great Sports Director who embraces everything Charlotte-sports has to offer, from high school to college to pros to everything in between, WBTV is looking for a true leader not afraid to take chances and excel. This person knows what makes an impactful sports story and will help WBTV win all facets of the game. A great accountability story and is not afraid to go after breaking news. Additionally, this role requires a team-first attitude who strives for excellence day-in and day-out.

In addition to the day-to-day responsibilities of WBTV's sports coverage and anchor role, this person is a leader and team player across the newsroom and beyond. We're searching for someone who can see a sports story whereas others may only see a highlight. We also want our Sports Director to take charge of coverage and assist with overall sports delivery no matter where the job takes them.

Qualifications/Requirements:

?? Three years minimum experience in a television newsroom or digital workplace. A background in photojournalism is desired.
