DESCRIPTION

WEYI/WBSF is seeking a dynamic Sports Director. We're looking for someone to bring a unique combination of journalistic and broadcasting skills. In this role, you will provide content for our local broadcast and digital platforms, as well as maintain a robust presence on our social media pages. Your responsibilities as a Sports Director will include anchoring, reporting, shooting and editing stories, enterprising story ideas, developing contacts, as well as other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have:

Sharp news judgment
Smooth pleasant delivery
Strong ‘in the field and in studio live’ skills
Ability to pitch and research story ideas
Excellent technical skills
Strong writing skills
Sharp video shooting and editing skills
Exemplary communication skills
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and a good driving record

Requirements and Qualifications:

You must have at least 2 to 3 years of anchor and reporting experience
Live commercial television experience is a must
Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field preferred
Exceptional written communications skills using a conversational writing style
Strong editorial judgment and a proven ethical foundation
