Job Summary/Description:

As WPTA's weekend sports anchor, you'll be part of a team dedicated to telling compelling and impactful sports stories. With our sports director as your mentor, you'll learn sharp writing and storytelling skills. You'll cover baseball from the often-awarded Parkview Field, ECHL hockey at the Memorial Coliseum, and competitive high school sports. You'll also cover D-1 Purdue Fort Wayne teams. We're looking for someone with a passion for finding and sharing important feature stories.

Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

· Develop contacts to find and tell impactful sports-related stories
· Understand and execute ethical, responsible news judgment
· Shoot, write, and edit sports highlights
· Anchor Weekend Sports
· Co-anchor and Co-produce Friday Night Highlight during high school and basketball seasons
· Identify and create other original content for our website and social media pages


· College Degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a similarly related field
· Sports Reporting experience on digital platforms and on air
· Technical knowledge and understanding of various media platforms
· Innovative team player with the ability to handle a variety of responsibilities
