KUTV, Utah’s #1 news station, is seeking a full-time Senior Digital Content Producer. This position is an integral part of a fast-paced newsroom environment and is responsible for the timely publication of breaking news and daily stories on all KUTV digital and social media platforms.

KUTV, Utah’s #1 news station, is seeking a full-time Senior Digital Content Producer. This position is an integral part of a fast-paced newsroom environment and is responsible for the timely publication of breaking news and daily stories on all KUTV digital and social media platforms.

 The Senior Digital Content Producer will edit, write and manage news stories, photos, videos, live streaming, and interactive content for all digital platforms, including KUTV.com, mobile, social media, and emerging technologies. This role will also mentor other digital producers, set the tone for daily newsroom execution, and help shape digital workflow during key coverage.

 They will help set editorial priorities for the team, ensure consistent execution of the daily content plan, and lead by example to help the team meet daily goals and monthly performance metrics.

 The Senior Digital Content Producer will also react to and post breaking news quickly and accurately, maintaining constant communication with news managers, the assignment desk, news producers, reporters, and photographers as stories develop.

 Qualifications:

  • Must be a self-starter
  • Have strong writing and editing abilities
  • Excellent project management and communication skills
  • The ability to meet short deadlines, multitask, and work well under pressure
  • Solid news judgment is key
  • Leadership experience or ability to guide other digital staff is a plus
  • Ability to take initiative and contribute to long-term digital growth strategy
  • Knowledge of AP style a plus
  • Computer skills
  • Strong understanding of web technologies
  • Professional-working knowledge of social media platforms and engagement are required
  • Microsoft Office and Adobe CS Suite skills needed
  • Video editing skills a plus

 Experience:

  • College degree in Digital Media, Journalism or Communications strongly preferred.
  • 3–5 years of professional digital news experience strongly preferred, with a proven track record of consistent, high-quality daily execution in a fast-paced newsroom environment.
  • This position reports to the Content Center Manager but must be able to take direction from multiple news managers.
