Position Title: Sales Assistant/ Marketing Consultant
Position Status: Full-time, Exempt
Position Pay:
Commission Based, as follows:
- Pay: Commission Based
Guaranteed compensation of $3250-3500 (gross) monthly for the first 6 months of employment- then transitions to 100% commission-based pay.
Position Summary
The Sales Assistant / Marketing Consultant role is a dynamic 50/50 position that combines sales support responsibilities with direct client account management and business development. This individual will support the sales team through account coordination, reporting, presentations, and order management while also developing and servicing local advertising accounts across television and digital platforms. The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer-focused, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced media sales environment.
This position will start off as 50/50 for the first six months and will eventually transition to be 100% a Marketing Consultant role around one year of employment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Sales Support & Administrative Responsibilities (50%)
- Support the General Sales Manager, National Sales Manager, and Account Executives with activities related to account management, sales growth, and client retention.
- Perform data entry and sales support functions for station advertising accounts.
- Enter and maintain local and regional advertising orders with accuracy and timeliness.
- Generate sales reports, monthly sales recaps, and other departmental documentation.
- Assist management in developing television and digital sales packages and promotional opportunities.
- Work closely with account executives to ensure receipt and accuracy of all required client information.
- Maintain sales software systems and databases, including order entry and account tracking.
- Create and update PowerPoint sales presentations and marketing materials.
- Coordinate department meetings, client meetings, and sales team scheduling.
- Assist with event planning and execution, including printed programs, invitation tracking, RSVP management, and coordination with venues and vendors.
- Coordinate special sales projects, promotions, and station initiatives.
- Assist with front desk coverage and general office support duties when needed.
- Support invoicing, order maintenance, aging reports, and account reconciliation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Account Executive & Business Development Responsibilities (50%)
- Service existing advertising accounts while building and developing new local advertising business through television and digital sales.
- Conduct presentations to local businesses highlighting the benefits and effectiveness of station advertising and digital marketing solutions.
- Build strong client relationships through ongoing communication, strategic planning, and customer service.
- Coordinate with the production team on commercial spot creation and assist with production needs as necessary.
- Monitor account status to ensure timely payments and account accuracy.
- Represent the station at networking events, community functions, and publicity events to build relationships and generate new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop customized advertising solutions that meet client objectives.

Education and Experience
- High school diploma required.
- Broadcast television, media sales, marketing, or advertising experience preferred but not required.
- Previous customer service, sales support, or account management experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
- Ability to answer phones and perform daily office tasks.
- Ability to occasionally lift and move office equipment or supplies up to 30 pounds.
