DESCRIPTION

Audacy Boston’s WEEI is seeking a Major League Baseball play-by-play and analyst announcer (English language) to broadcast during the 2024 Red Sox season. If you have experience and expertise in describing baseball action on the radio – to go along with an engaging personality – you could be a perfect match to call games alongside Hall-of-Famer Joe Castiglione in the Sox Booth this year!

JOB EXPERIENCE

What You'll Do:

Prepare and research for game broadcasts
Some games/innings will be in a play-by-play role, describing on-field action; other games/innings would be spent as an analyst, assisting the lead play-by-play voice with game reaction
Deliver live game broadcasts that are both entertaining and informative
Participate in pre-game and post-games shows
Conduct interviews with players, coaches and team management
Interact/engage with listeners on social media
Participate in content creation across all platforms
Occasional appearance on WEEI-FM talk shows possible
Protect the station’s FCC license
Make personal appearances at station events and remote broadcasts
Other duties as required by management

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications:

Extensive experience as a baseball announcer on radio
Strong on-air voice required with the ability to change tempo and passion as game action dictates
Knowledge of Red Sox history and the Boston sports scene necessary
Strong social media brand and skills a plus
Must have the ability to travel
Must have a flexible schedule to work daytime, evenings and weekends
Ability to operate and troubleshoot broadcast equipment is a bonus
A valid driver’s license, satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check, and, if the position requires use of applicant’s own vehicle, proof of insurance, is required.
