Job Summary/Description:
WECT is looking for a full-time photojournalist to join our news team. This is an entry-level position, perfect for someone looking to gain experience and explore opportunities in the broadcast news industry. You must be self-motivated, have good communication skills, and be able to work both independently and as part of a team. Primary duties include gathering video, interviews, and information, editing for broadcast and digital/social platforms, setting up/ executing live shots, and other duties as assigned.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
– Shoot video and interviews for news stories
– Non-linear editing for broadcast and digital platforms
– Writing for broadcast and digital platforms
– Basic news gathering
– Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
– Associate's or Bachelor's degree in journalism, TV production, or related field- equivalent experience considered
– Non-linear editing experience
– Broadcast and print writing
– Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
– Flexible schedule
– Valid driver's license
