KTHV, the TEGNA CBS affiliate in Little Rock, Arkansas, is looking for a temporary, part-time Video Editor.
This person will be responsible for editing video for weekend newscasts and also filling in on other shifts. This person will also help with a special archive project where the station is converting archival video to digital formats.
The ideal candidate must work well under pressure, within a team environment and?have the ability to think?outside-the-box when it comes to editing.
This right candidate will also have strong news judgment. They must also be detail-oriented, relish feedback and be willing to try new things.
Responsibilities:
- Editing a variety of video elements including voice-overs, SOTS, packages, graphics and teases
- Ability to operate non-linear edit systems, experience with Edius and Adobe Premiere is a plus
- Coordinate incoming video feeds to record
- Must always have a professional demeanor and work well/as a team player with news team and staff
- Ability to multi-task, handling editing assignments and capturing feeds and FTP material, while constantly monitoring quality control editing to scripts and producer notes
- Perform other tasks as required by supervisor or executive producer
- Use creative production techniques such as graphics and other forms of media (viewer pictures, webcam interviews, etc.) to enhance stories.
Requirements:
- Must have experience with non-linear editing systems – preferably in a local TV news department environment
- Ability to create/edit material for on-air broadcasts and web, while meeting deadlines
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including mornings, weekends, holidays
- The ability to adhere to brand guidelines and standards is also a must
