DESCRIPTION
Events Assistant (part-time)
Location : Kansas City, MO
Reports To: Events Manager
FLSA Classification: Hourly/Non Exempt
Salary: $25 per hour/ 25 hours per week
The Events Assistant will execute engagement events of various sizes and in varied locations throughout the Kansas City metro area for all three Kansas City PBS brands (Kansas City PBS, Flatland and 90.9 The Bridge). The ideal candidate will show exceptional attention to detail, remain steady in high-pressure situations, and consistently deliver professional, customer centered service in a fast-paced setting. A clear problem-solver and positive force, this role is public-facing and serves as an ambassador for Kansas City PBS in the key strategic area of in-person engagement.

JOB EXPERIENCE
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: An equivalent amount of training, education and experience will be considered.
• Associates degree in hospitality or other project-based discipline. Commensurate experience in an events role considered.
• 1+ year in service-related or project-based work environment
REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Exceptional organization, process mindset, and demonstrate strong attention to detail.
• Customer-first communication skills with sound judgment and professionalism.
• Ability to make quick decisions, problem-solve on the fly, and remain calm under pressure.
• Ability to lift at least 40 lbs
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the role, including standing and moving for extended periods, working long shifts, and safely performing light to moderate physical
tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to work a varying schedule including evenings and weekends as scheduled.
