DESCRIPTION

Audacy’s KCBS All News Radio, The Bay Area’s number one news station, is looking for an intrepid and
tech-savvy journalist with a positive attitude and impressive work ethic to join an elite news team.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, and you must be able to take a
detail-oriented approach to work while meeting your deadlines. Experience in the San Francisco market
is a plus. Anchoring experience is a plus, but not required. This is not a job for a beginner.


JOB EXPERIENCE

Essential Duties
? Conceptualize, pitch, produce and record interesting news and feature stories, series, special
projects and collaborative programming/sales initiatives
? Report, from the field or Newsroom, over the course of multiple hours, on various KCBS channels
(radio, Audacy app, station website and social media channels)
? Gather, write, record, edit and deliver content inclusive of providing live coverage when breaking
news occurs
? Interview newsmakers
? Write scripts and ad-lib material for stories
? Use social media – including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to connect with
the community, promote upcoming stories and interviews, and to highlight station content
? Contribute content – including but not limited to audio, video and written format – to the
Audacy app and the station website, KCBSradio.com
? Protect the station’s FCC license
? Other duties as required by managemen


REQUIREMENTS

More About You

You must have compelling audio and video delivery, be a proficient news gatherer – using a variety of
sources – and be proficient with audio and video editing equipment and programs. You will be expected
to work under deadlines in a newsroom and/or field reporting environment. We are seeking a broadcast
journalist who collaborates with colleagues on a variety of news, programming and sales initiatives and
projects. You will be expected to pitch content and interview ideas. You will be expected to actively
participate on various social media channels and contribute content to the station’s digital assets,
including the Audacy app and station website, KCBSradio.com.
KCBS is a 24/7 live and local news station. The P/T features reporter will be assigned 16 hours per week,
and the schedule may include early morning, evening, dayside, weekend and holiday shifts.

 

A valid driver’s license, satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check, and, if the position requires use of applicant’s own vehicle, proof of insurance, is required.
