Job Description:

News/Talk 98.9 WORD (WYRD-FM) Full-time News Anchor/Reporter, On-Air and digital content. Must have an aggressive, curious mindset and work ethic. Candidates must multi-task efficiently to meet deadlines and demonstrate creative instincts in finding and breaking local stories

JOB EXPERIENCE

What You'll Do:

Cover breaking news on-air, and in digital content
Develop compelling news, content for on-air and on digital assets.
Other duties as required by management

REQUIREMENTS

Required:

High energy, passionate approach needed
Journalistic writing skills a must
Simple digital video and editing skills
Anchoring on-air newscasts
Understand that accurate reporting and speed to market is critical
Must be mobile to cover news on the scene and in the field
Existing cell phone service and recent edition smartphone
A vision for excellence
A valid driver’s license, satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check, and, if the position requires use of applicant’s own vehicle, proof of insurance, is required.

Preferred:

2 or more years experience covering breaking news, and original news stories for media using audio and digital assets.
Produce content on multi-media platforms including web and social media sites
