DESCRIPTION

KVUE-TV (Austin, TX) is seeking a highly skilled and artistic Photographer who is well-versed in the latest photography and editing tools. These tools are essential for creating shareable and exciting television and social media content. We are looking for a photojournalist who can tell great stories independently or with a team. The ideal candidate should be proficient with live news-gathering tools and capable of producing live content on-air and online. 

Responsibilities

  • Use the latest editing and photography tools to tell great stories.
  • Contact sources and develop news stories.
  • Cover breaking, general, sports, and feature stories.
  • Produce news stories that are unique and captivating.
  • Attend editorial meetings, participate in discussions, and suggest story ideas.
  • Edit and post video content stories for KVUE.com and KVUE+.
  • Develop news sources for general assignments and special areas of interest.
  • Perform other tasks as required by the supervisor or executive producer.
  • Some out-of-town travel is sometimes required.
  • Must be able to lift/carry camera equipment.
  • Work hours include some evenings and some weekends.

 

Requirements: 

  • College degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of two years experience as a TV photojournalist and news editor preferred
  • Must help promote a culture of innovative storytelling
  • Complete newsgathering skills required
  • Must be able to make quick decisions while working under pressured deadlines, willingness to work overtime, and work flexible shifts
  • Strong computer skills in a mobile environment are required
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, able to lift to 40 lbs and occasionally up to 80 pounds with or without an accommodation
