Responsibilities:
• Lead the daily operations of our broadcast directors and production assistants with precision and purpose.
• Ensure quality control of all content appearing across station platforms — from live field reports to studio segments.
• Oversee performance, scheduling, coaching, and development for directors and production assistants.
• Champion cutting-edge newsgathering and digital distribution technology — from bonded cellular units to cloud-based editing.
• Partner with the News Director and Head of Technology to manage operational and capital budgets, expenses, and equipment needs.
• Drive newsroom logistics for breaking news, town halls, high-profile field productions, and special event coverage.
• Maintain service records and ensure the reliability of all field gear and fleet vehicles.
• Serve as the point person for vendor contracts, budget tracking, and newsroom expenditures.
• Build bridges across departments to ensure smooth, collaborative productions and resource management.
• Set and uphold a culture of journalistic excellence, innovation, and integrity.
Requirements:
• 1–3 years of experience as a Senior Director, Chief Photographer, or News Operations Manager.
• A strong working knowledge of:
• Studio and field camera equipment
• Bonded cell transmission (Dejero, LiveU, TVU, etc.)
• News fleet maintenance and scheduling
• File-based workflows and live production logistics
• Experience leading teams, building systems, and fostering high-performing newsroom operations.
• Solid journalistic judgment and an understanding of storytelling across digital and broadcast platforms.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, people, and priorities.
• A forward-thinking, collaborative mindset and commitment to excellence.
