The National Account Manager (NAM) on our team is charged with managing the ad solutions that are sold by TEGNA Sales Account Executives (AEs). The National Account Manager reports to our National Sales Manager and is a key point of contact for our clients and coordinates the full efforts of all the internal team members involved in the fulfillment & execution process to help our clients achieve the desired business results and receive a strong ROI.

Responsibilities:

  • Checks all incoming orders for rates, spot length and communicates with our National TEGNA office personnel with questions to ensure orders are input correctly. 
  • Demonstrates proof of performance for customer campaigns. This includes production, providing clients with broadcast posts and digital campaign performance recaps.
  • Partners with National Account Executives with maintenance of broadcast and digital contracts, make goods, and overall customer service.
  • Works to prepare and sell through make-goods. Resolves scheduling issues and program changes.
  • Works with all departments in the station to fulfill sponsorships and promotions.
  • Works with Traffic Department as necessary to facilitate accurate scheduling of customers’ traffic.
  • Works closely with NSM on political activity and executes the following and more.  Check all political orders, revise when incorrect and input.  Review all NAB’s to ensure they are completed correctly, sign them, and have them placed in the Public File. View all political commercials to verify appropriate content is included and approve for air and if not, contact the appropriate TEGNA political office to get them corrected.  Completes Supplement Forms.  Monitor LUR’s throughout political windows to ensure compliance with Lowest Unit Rate rules.  Handle political makegoods. Coordinate accounting efforts to ensure that political dollars have been sent before a campaign begins and that all dollars are collected before the window closes. Place political invoices in the political file so they can be loaded into the Public File.    
  • Able to make decisions and solve problems independently on behalf of designated TEGNA Account Executives.
  • Understands TEGNA and station’s products, processes, and services in order to articulate to clients, when appropriate.
  • Partners with Digital Sales support and management on the execution of digital campaigns sold by National Account Executives. This includes ensuring all digital campaigns are executed on-time, accurately booked and trafficked, and regularly monitored to ensure successful delivery and communication.
  • Responsible for identifying trends and opportunities to improve product conversion and overall campaign performance

Requirements:

  • Related experience in account management or client services, preferably within the advertising industry
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite/Wide Orbit Sales & Traffic/Matrix/Ad Impact
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects effectively under deadline pressure.
  • Creative and able to adapt quickly to change.
  • Position requires strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong organization and time management.
  • Commitment to high quality of work and excellent client services

  • Ability to identify problems and solve them through innovative solutions and sound judgement
