About WMBF:
WMBF is the NBC Network affiliate for the Grand Strand and Pee Dee regions of South Carolina and parts of North Carolina. This Gray Media-owned property was launched in 2008 in Myrtle Beach, SC, and was built as a state-of-the-art HD broadcast facility. We broadcast over 39 hours of live local news and weather + NBC network programming. We offer additional programming via digital broadcast networks like Bounce TV, and Telemundo, and just added the Palmetto Sports Network! We use digital media platforms to deliver Live, Local news coverage across the Myrtle Beach-Florence market. Job Summary/Description:
WMBF-TV, the NBC affiliate in sunny Myrtle Beach, SC, is seeking a self-motivated Multimedia Sales Manager to join our winning sales team. This position will lead, coach, and mentor our local sales team. This position is responsible for achieving sales revenue goals while building client relationships.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Manage, direct, and train to maximize the performance of the local media executives and coordinators.
• Motivate the local sales team so that digital and broadcast revenue goals are achieved.
• Assist Media Executives in presenting and closing contracts to clients.
• Develop sales presentations and collateral using up-to-date research materials.
• Take ownership of ongoing talent development for the local sales team, including recruitment.
• Ability to Negotiate ratings, rates, and budgets.
• Maintain professional working relationships with our clients
• Interface with operational systems such as Wide Orbit, Matrix, Research Analytics, etc.
• Assist in the management of inventory.
• Working at a partnership/consultative level as an expert in digital advertising with Media Consultants and advertisers.
• Accurately forecast sales revenue for your team weekly.
• Work in tandem with the Director of Sales on revenue generation strategy and forecasting.
• Collaborate with the station management team to accomplish objectives.
• Drive revenue growth and ensure goals are met or exceeded, with a focus on new local direct business.
• Produce results and execute tasks efficiently and effectively while making the best use of resources.
Qualifications/Requirements:
– Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Digital and Broadcast Advertising Sales.
– Proven leader with the ability to think ahead and put into place action items.
– Extremely strong verbal and written communication skills.
– Strong organizational, written, and presentation skills.
– High-level proficiency with MS Office applications.
– Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
