DESCRIPTION
KTVI Fox 2-KPLR CW 11 in St. Louis, MO has an immediate opening for a Multimedia Producer/Reporter. We are looking for a creative, visionary individual who knows how to craft a great rundown but isn’t married to it. The winning candidate will produce 3 days a week and report two days. We want someone enthusiastic, quick, flexible and who plays well with others. You must be a strong proven writer who follows current events and can handle hard news. Candidate must know how to operate a camera and edit.
JOB EXPERIENCE
This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism or related field and 1+ years of relevant work experience.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
• Candidate must be proficient in ALL forms of news gathering from knowing how to operate a field camera to being active on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
• Knowledge of contemporary TV Production techniques and computer software
• Shooting/Editing: Must have a solid grasp of how to shoot and edit digital video, tell stories with words, video, sound and graphics. We shoot on Sony EX3 cameras and edit on Final Cut Pro.
• Enterprise Reporting: A superior ability to develop enterprise story ideas, develop sources & contacts, and research stories.
• Writing: Consistently writing factual/accurate, clear, compelling, easy-to-understand, news stories and teases, making maximum use of video, graphics, live shots, and all the tools available to achieve superb story telling on multimedia platforms.
• Aggressive Response to Breaking News & Weather: On air, online, on social media such as Twitter and Facebook and on other platforms.
• Superior ability to report live out in the field and under pressure, meeting deadlines
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Other duties as assigned.
