DESCRIPTION

NEWS CENTER Maine, TEGNA's NBC stations in Bangor and Portland, has a full-time opening for a Multi-Skilled Reporter based in Bangor.

We want a smart news hound with a heart. Someone who is naturally curious and can enterprise impact stories from Bangor to Acadia for a statewide audience.

Responsibilities:

  • In this job you will set-up, shoot, write and edit stories daily for broadcast and often wrap them with LIVE shots.
  • You will also write and post to the web and social media daily.
  • In short, we are looking for a journalist who wants to be the best storyteller, best live reporter, and provide the best social media and web content for the state of Maine.

 


JOB EXPERIENCE

REQUIREMENTS

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism or similar field

• 1-2 years of experience as an MSJ/MMJ (school news gathering and/or internship)

• Experience in videography, editing, and posting to the internet

• Active on Twitter, FB, Instagram, TikTok, or Snapchat

• Knowledge of ENPS, Edius, and Axis graphics a plus

Travel: Frequent: More than 25

Work Environment Set: Outdoors: performed in various outdoor environmental conditions

Physical Demands Set: Medium work: Involves standing prolong hours, stooping, bending, lifting/pushing up to 25 lbs.
