KVLY is in need someone who understands the climate of the area and how disruptive weather effects everyone in their daily lives. Fargo is one of the most diverse weather markets in the US with extremes of snow and cold to spring and summer tornadoes being common. The ideal candidate understands that this is not a nine to five job and that long hours are part of the expectation when severe weather threatens.
The successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:
* Preparation of forecast maps for both broadcast and online
* Be available for on-call spot weather events
* Be able to present the weather story of the day in a concise and easy to understand fashion
* One year minimum of television weather experience
* Knowledge of MAX weather system preferable
* Degree in meteorology from an accredited school or program
* Driver's license and acceptable driving record
