DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Master Control Operator

Position Status: Full-time, non-exempt

Position Pay: $17.25 Per/Hr.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Monitors on air and cable broadcast signals
Records programs from satellite feeds for later use
Sets up and airs programs and program break per program log
Ingest media from various sources for air or office use
Monitors and controls transmitter output
Maintains transmitter logs and discrepancy logs
Assists with traffic and on-air promotion
Other Duties as Assigned

Education and Experience

College Degree Preferred
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Broadcast experience is preferred
Willing to train the right candidate

Qualifications

Applicants to have knowledge of broadcast equipment and procedures preferred
Computer experience is required
Must be available to work flexible hours including holidays, nights, weekends, and overnights
Must also be a team player, work well under pressure
Be able to multi-task, have attention to detail
A positive attitude and a work ethic based on honesty and integrity.

Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing to communicate complex information clearly.

Reasoning Abilities

Strong critical thinking skills to troubleshoot and report problems

Physical Demands

Sitting for extended periods of eight (8) to ten (10) hours per day
Manual dexterity in operating equipment and computers
Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Work Environment

Indoors in a newsroom control room setting
Exposure to medium or loud noises occasionally
