The Marketing Producer will work primarily on the lifestyle sales-based show, Your California Life and report to the show’s Executive Producer / Host. The ideal candidate has a track record for thriving in a fast-paced work environment. This candidate needs to have strong photography and editing skills to create sharable and exciting content for television and social media. The individual selected for this role also needs to be familiar with the latest photography, editing tools and techniques who can create unique and exciting content on all platforms. This candidate needs to be skilled in shooting interviews on location by themselves as well as editing efficiently and quickly.

Budgeted Compensation Range: $50k – $65k DOE


  • Ability to shoot solo for on location shoots which require this role to mic up guests, scouting location to shoot interviews, while capturing creative b-roll to incorporate into post edits
  • Must work fast to quickly shoot and edit PKG’s in a timely manner; typically 1 week before air
  • Needs to be efficient and experienced in editing and photography tools to tell great stories, including Edius and Premiere
  • Shoot and edit original content that conveys compelling stories for on-air and on all digital platforms
  • Editing all elements (VO, SOT, NATVO) into the show’s daily rundown within 1- 2 days before air
  • Use creative production techniques including graphics and new forms of media (setting up virtual interviews on VMIX, creating animated show opens for holidays, captivating lower thirds that are enticing, etc.) to enhance stories
  • Relaying any tech/functionality mishaps that take place during the live broadcast to station Engineers
  • Maintaining the studio so that it always remains on-air ready
  • Attend editorial pitch meetings, participate in discussions with the expectation of suggesting story ideas on a monthly basis
  • Work with sales clients and meet project deadlines

  • Posting to the show’s social media outlets weekly to promote upcoming content, including segments and shoots in the works
  • Assisting the marketing departments with shoots, topicals, and wherever as needed when instructed by supervisor


3-5 yrs


  • BA/BS in Journalism, Communications, or related field
  • 2-4 years of experience preferred
  • Experience in photojournalism and editing
  • Proven ability to generate creative, engaging, content for live lifestyle show
  • Must be reliable and dependable
  • Organizational skills and the ability to work under constant deadlines
  • Ability to calmly handle live, changing events within the show
  • Must be able to handle the physical demands of a photographer
  • Work effectively in a team environment with an upbeat positive can-do attitude
  • Willing to work on weekends when needed to capture and highlight community events
  • Perform other tasks as required by supervisor
  • Current driver's license and ability to operate news gathering vehicle to and from various locations
