KING 5 is looking for an experienced, creative, and innovative Host/Reporter for our award-winning, locally produced entertainment show, Evening.

This is the position in the television industry you have dreamed about! You will cover the trendy Pacific Northwest restaurant scene, explore new art exhibits, participate in movie junkets, follow the iconic Seattle music scene, champion small businesses by telling their stories, and meet new people every day.

Your mission is to help people discover the places, people and events that make the Pacific Northwest the coolest place on the planet!

If you are the ideal candidate, you will be responsible for daily, on-location hosting responsibilities along with creative, pre-produced story packages. You will have a deep understanding of video or television storytelling and a passion for innovation. You will be responsible for producing individual shows and dreaming big, conceiving full-length specials for a multi-platform audience. You also understand how to execute integrated sponsorship initiatives and keep a steady social media presence. The best part? You will join an incredible team, collaborating with creative individuals on rewarding projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Host/produce at least one Evening show a week and one group show a week
  • Rotate hosting duties for our Evening Extra wrap-up studio show and be available to guest host other locally produced programs
  • Write/produce two stories a week, creating unique, engaging, and rich storytelling experiences to grow a loyal audience across all platforms, including social media
  • Produce/host one 30-minute special every quarter (4x per year)
  • Pitch story ideas and hosting locations
  • Attend and contribute to editorial meetings both on TEAMS and in person
  • Manage individual schedule on SHIFTS. This includes shoots, edits, meetings, PTO, and appointments.
  • Screen shows as needed

JOB EXPERIENCE


REQUIREMENTS

Requirements:

  • Successful candidate will have a minimum of five years experience with pre-produced content and on-air delivery
  • Strong sense of storytelling
  • Exceptional planning and execution skills, multitasking and the ability to work under time pressure deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required to actively work with all departments
  • Solid content judgement and a philosophy that emphasizes innovative, unique local content, along with community engagement
  • Knowledge of ENPS, Adobe Creative Suite and project management software a plus
  • This position is full-time, hourly, and Union represented. In-office work required.
