KVEO NBC 23 is looking for candidates with strong news judgment, the ability to showcase important stories, and who knows how to win "Breaking News and Weather."

Our producers help craft the station's daily content and work with the digital desk, assignment desk, and our crews in the field. Candidates must have a passion for Journalism.


JOB EXPERIENCE

News Producers must be capable of making quick and sound editorial decisions, including:

·         Selecting and prioritizing stories and story development efforts.

·         Determine the order in which stories will be told in broadcasts.

·         Write compelling broadcast content focused on our audience.

·         Create unique opens and in-depth elements for big stories.

·         Be able to adjust stories within newscasts to accommodate breaking news quickly.

·         Communicate effectively with coworkers, anchors, directors, and field reporters.

·         Write compelling teases to bring viewers to our broadcasts.

·         Time broadcasts and ensure they are clean and correct on the air.

·         Help promote digital platforms to increase page views and video views.

·         Field produce special newscasts live on location outside of the studio.

 



REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
  • Fluency in English with strong spelling and grammar
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Proficiency with computers, tablets, and mobile digital devices
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Flexibility to work any shift
