About KWTX:

Job Summary/Description: 

Digital Content Producers manage all digital platforms, including our website, news app, weather app, OTT apps, and social media platforms. Digital Content Producers fill each platform with local, regional, and trending news. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, organized, able to work independently, and can complete multiple tasks while meeting deadlines. Candidates should be able to write in AP style and copy-edit other newsroom employee's stories. This role requires someone who is always seeking out the latest news locally, statewide, and nationally through a variety of available sources and platforms. Digital Content Producers have the daily responsibility of maintaining KWTX standards for journalism and storytelling in their work.

Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

– Write stories, edit, and post videos to kwtx.com, mobile apps, and station social media platforms
– Create an anchor content on KWTXtra, our live-streaming platform
– Edit video, images, and interviews to match scripts for use in newscasts and on digital sites
– Respond to breaking news and urgent newsroom situations
– Upload video and still photos to the website
– Communicate with editorial staff to post information factually, fairly, and fast to web and digital platforms
– Explore ways to increase visual content on the website and digital platforms
– Collaborate on story ideas with the news team daily
– Conduct Facebook live videos with meteorologists and reporters
– Copy-edit web story submissions from reporters and other newsroom personnel
– Livestream events using station technology on our website and social media platforms, including KWTXtra
– Monitor comments and messages on station social media platforms
– Monitor KWTX News 10 talent professional social media pages
– Create unique content such as videos, and graphics for social media posts
– Ensure that all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality
– Perform special projects and other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

– Bachelor's Degree in Journalism or related field
– Valid Driver's License and must complete the MVR process successfully
– Capable of gathering information and interviews when necessary, and conducting online research
– Computer literacy required, including ideally the ENPS news system
– Strong communication and people skills
– Competitive, energetic, self-starter who wants to win
– Strong writing and organizational skills
– Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
– Ability to work evenings and weekends
