Job Summary/Description:

WGEM News is quickly growing its digital platforms and looking for its next Digital Content Producer superstar who can help take our content to the next level.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

– Producing dynamic written and video news content for distribution across all WGEM digital platforms.
– Working quickly to produce breaking news stories.
– Collaborating with reporters to help expand daily stories with digital content.
– Help maintain social media platforms with fresh content focusing on quality over quantity.
– Help the digital team plan and create original streaming and on-demand news and lifestyle content.
– Help maintain and oversee quality control on all digital platforms, including WGEM.com.
– Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

– Candidates should have a passion for news gathering, strong news judgment, and the ability to thrive in breaking news situations.
– Candidates must think quickly and clearly and display strong leadership and organizational skills.
– This job requires flexible hours and the ability to produce compelling written and video content.
– The ability to craft compelling headlines and social media posts to create maximum engagement.
– They also can work independently to act on news tips and confirm details with officials.
– A working understanding of AP-style writing and being comfortable in front of a camera is a plus.
