DESCRIPTION
Job Description:
The Digital Content Manager oversees the creation of all digital content on assigned Waterloo Media brand websites and social portals. Takes direction from Director of Digital Media and brand Program Directors to create an extension of on-air brands to online content.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for the creation and production of multimedia, web and social content
- Strive to make assigned brands authentic through catered projects, posts and stories
- Research and write local, timely, brand appropriate content
- Update websites with blogs, photo galleries, contests, and events
- Write copy for online campaigns and ads
- Post content across multiple platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.)
- Capable of working independently and as part of the team when needed
- Communicate and engage with followers in a friendly and helpful manner
- Assist in the development of web pages and design graphics for contests and events
- Analyze web and social data and present statistics
- Strategize and pitch ideas to improve online reach
- Email marketing: create and write newsletters
- Live coverage of station events: includes shooting video, photographing and social media updates
- Performing audits on existing digital content for the company to ensure it aligns with brand guidelines for voice, optimization, and suitability
- Monitoring and researching competitors to find gaps in keywords or content to cover
- Devising various content strategies that work for specific audiences with an aim to reach clear goals such as a set number of site visitors
Job Requirements:
- Capable of shooting, editing and live streaming video
- Grammatically correct content writing for website, blogs and social posts
- Adobe Creative Cloud: Photoshop, Premiere, InDesign, Illustrator, Lightroom, After Effects
- Avid social media user
- Google Analytics
- Time management and ability to multi-task projects
- Clear, concise communication skills; both verbal and written
- Ability to work in office M-F 8:30-5:30, occasional evenings and weekends
- Valid driver’s license and state mandated auto insurance is required
Education and/or Experience:
- 2+ years in Digital Media
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Graphic Design or Radio, TV & Film preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
