DESCRIPTION

The WHAS Crusade for Children VP Donor Relations is responsible for leading increased support of the WHAS Crusade for Children through development programs, individuals, major donors, corporations, foundations, and other sources. Reports to the Chief Executive Officer providing strategic guidance and vision in identifying and cultivating donations and gifts to achieve goals.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain networking relationships with multiple levels of donor/patrons in community/region.

• Develop and maintain fire department relationships in community/region.

• Coordinate remote Crusade locations for annual telethon, cultivating relationships with local leadership and media.

• Plan, implement and evaluate fundraising programs and activities.

• Cultivate individual donors, major gifts and planned giving programs, private foundation, corporate sponsorships, annual employee campaigns and outreach programs.

• Create annual written development plans.

• Develop new and manage existing strategies for engagement growth, with a focus on newer generations.

• Focus on new strategies for donor base expansion.

• Support board members, staff, and volunteers to assist in implementation of development activities and programs.

• Maintain high visibility as spokesperson, presenter and advocate of the Crusade and its mission.

• Complete other duties as assigned by CEO.

REQUIREMENTS

Requirements

• College degree

• 5 years’ experience in fundraising and development

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and related software

• Excellent people skills, as well as written and oral communication skills

• Proven ability to interact with the public on multiple levels

• Self-motivated and able to multitask a varied work load

• Demonstrated attention to detail and quality

• Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge software a plus

• Knowledge of HTML and web site publishing helpful

• Flexible to work occasional non-traditional schedule and travel throughout state/region.

 

Travel: Occasionally: 10-25%

Work Environment Set: Office: normally performed in a typical interior/office environment

Physical Demands Set: Light work: Involves sitting most of the time, walking, lifting, bending, standing, etc.
