DESCRIPTION
ABC and CW affiliates in Salt Lake City) seek creative photo-journalist, videographer and editor who can help produce content, shot and editor for award-wining local lifestyle shows and commercial clients. The Creative Services Photographer-Editor operates video recording gear in-studio and on-location for live and recorded TV broadcasts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
JOB EXPERIENCE
- Shoots and edits video for lifestyle shows – Good Things Utah and The Daily Dish.
- Coordinate shoots and editing assignments with hosts, reporters, managers and Creative Services Department colleagues.
- Maintains video recording and editing equipment.
- Edits video clips for television broadcasts and eMedia content.
- Operates live microwave and satellite trucks, remote cell-signal backpacks on location.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma. Some college coursework or vocational training preferred.
- Two years’ experience operating video recording and editing equipment preferred.
- Proficiency with video recording/editing gear, computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, and other office equipment.
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Flexibility to work any shift.
- Fluency in English.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- The Creative Services Photographer must be able to sit, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, work near others, work outdoors occasionally in all weather conditions, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.
- In addition, the Creative Services Photographer must be able to lift, set up and operate equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, and can handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls. Repetitive movements are required. Work may be conducted in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions.
