KUSA-TV, the TEGNA owned NBC affiliate in Denver, CO is seeking a Broadcast Technology Engineer to maintain and support all media distribution platforms, including but not limited to broadcast technology & operations. KUSA is a visionary media hub unlike any other local TV station. We work hard every day to bring a high level of customer service to our internal and external clients. This position requires an engineer with great people skills and a desire to work in a flexible environment. The ideal candidate can balance multiple ongoing projects while addressing the immediate maintenance needs of a 24/7 operation. We support a large local tv station, numerous corporate business units and a national television show.   • Support critical broadcast/IT systems
  • Provide desktop support
  • Maintain broadcast automation and playout systems
  • Contribute to technical documentation that accurately represents installed equipment.
  • Support news editing and scripting systems/software
  • Support building/physical plant systems as needed
  • Provide remote site and transmitter support


3 – 5 years



  • 3-5 years’ experience in broadcast engineering or related.
  • In-depth knowledge of broadcast technologies including; IT, Transmitters, Microwave systems, RF, Broadcast Switchers, Router Systems, ENG and DSNG Transmissions, Field Cameras, Signal Path Workflows
  • Working knowledge of other technologies including; Camera Robotics Controls, Information Technology Infrastructure, VOIP Phone Systems, Broadcast Automation Systems, News Room Editing Systems
  • Demonstrated strong leadership
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated strong project management experience
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and make quick decisions under pressure
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule in support of a 24x7x365 operation with assigned on-call schedule
  • Compensation Range: $35 – $40/hr

Travel: Rarely: less than 10%
