DESCRIPTION
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assignment Editor/Writer answers newsroom phone calls, monitors scanners, dispatches news crews to cover stories and helps our overnight Producers write stories for our early morning newscasts.
JOB EXPERIENCE
Candidates with the following abilities are preferred:
- Strong writing ability.
- Calm under pressure.
- Great at multi-tasking.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Ability to work weekends, unusual shifts and holidays.
REQUIREMENTS
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS:
- Aid Producers in writing news stories for KFOR/KAUT newscasts.
- Monitor scanners for breaking news
- Interact, in a positive manner, with viewers via telephone and email
- Dispatch crews to stories
- Post breaking news to KFOR.com
