Job Summary/Description:
WAVE in Louisville, KY has an opening for an Assignment Editor/Digital Producer to join our award-winning newsroom.
Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
– Writing and producing content for WAVE's website, app, OTT platforms, and social pages.
– Monitoring scanners, maintaining phone lists, and keeping files/records of upcoming news events.
– Writing stories for various digital and social platforms.
– Generate and pitch story ideas and research as necessary.
– Direct Photojournalists and reporters to gather/produce news.
Qualifications/Requirements:
– Strong verbal/written communications skills and knowledge of AP Style required.
– College degree in Journalism preferred.
– Ability to work well under pressure.
– Ability to work well on your own or with a team.
– Must be able to handle a wide variety of variables, including short deadlines, shifting schedules.
– Other duties as assigned by news management.
