DESCRIPTION
News Channel 8 is looking for an experienced television News Assignment Desk Editor to lead our assignment desk and daily newsgathering effort.
JOB EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience of working in a television newsroom (preferably some of that in a top 75 market.) You will know how to help lead an aggressive news operation with all the tools. Demonstrable mastery in assignment desk operations, including story development, logistics of field crews (reporters, photographers and live truck operators) and communicating with all members of the news staff is required.
REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge of Connecticut and press contacts is highly desirable. Ability to use computer-based newsgathering tools, including iNews newsroom computer system is a must.
Must be willing and able to work any and all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
