KVUE-TV, ABC Affiliate in Austin, Texas / A TEGNA Company has an opening for a Full-Time Master Control Operator/ ELC Broadcast Director. The Master Control Operator is responsible for executing playback of programming and commercials through Crispin automation. The Master Control Operator is also responsible for the oversight of multiple television channels simultaneously, including signal monitoring, transmitter remote control operation, and FCC compliance logging. The candidate will also be responsible for directing live newscast via ELC and must be able to code, coordinate and execute all technical aspects of a multi-camera, multi-live shot, multi-talent live newscast. The candidate must be a strong team leader with exceptional communication, problem solving and multi-tasking skills.
Responsibilities
- Proper operation of all program channels to ensure continued and seamless program delivery
- Observation of all video and audio quality
- Monitoring and operating transmitter remote control systems
- Satellite and distributor-based file recordings, and preparation for automation playback
- Coordination with News and Production personnel during live shows
- Previewing playlists to ensure all assets are ready for broadcast as scheduled
- Managing on-air logs, automation playlists, and server-based computer systems
- Submitting discrepancy reports regarding scheduling, Traffic, and on-air irregularities
- Other duties as assigned
- Sony ELC Automation coding for newscasts
- Experience with ENPS software
- Directing live newscasts
- Coordinating with news producers and floor crew

REQUIREMENTS
Requirements
- One to two years' experience in a similar role in a television environment preferred
- General knowledge of FCC and EAS rules and regulations
- Experience with basic digital TV systems and monitoring equipment
- Experience operating television automation recording and playback, and video server systems
- Experience with Master Control operations for live network and sports programming a plus
- Must be a team player, able to communicate with other operators, management, and station personnel
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision on a regular basis
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, which includes overnights, weekends, and holidays
- Experience running Sony ELC automation equipment
- Experience directing live newscasts
