DESCRIPTION
This Producer reports directly to the Executive Producer. Position requires managing all aspects of production for a weekly half-hour business news/sponsor integrated morning show format.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing segments including developing fresh ideas, booking compelling guests and writing news stories, engaging teases, intros and short and long-form packages.
The Producer will manage an editorial calendar, schedule and coordinate interviews.
The Producer will work in a collaborative environment with Executive Producer, Show Host and Production Team to produce show.
Producer will also work closely with WKYC Sales Department to secure and deliver quality engaging/informative segments, which are sponsored. This includes interfacing with clients and ensuring their mission and/or product is effectively presented in segments with the goal of bringing new business to their company and the brand.
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Consulting with Executive Producer on stories selected and materials used for segment presentation.
- Supervising photographers and editors for field and pre-produced packages.
- Write stories for the web site/social media and assemble stories with video, pictures, slideshows, forums, and surveys.
- Write and produce weekly promos for both on-air and digital delivery.
- Coordinate location shoots, field and on-site production, manage on-camera talent and make certain production value is aesthetically pleasing.

REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the necessary skills and abilities required for this job.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- At Least 2 years’ experience producing a business program or news show
- Must have a passion for business and finance and keep abreast of economic trends
- Must be able to inject creativity into writing and segment development
- Proficiency in ENPS preferred
- Must be knowledgeable of AP style
- Must know basic non-linear video editing (Proficiency in Edius and Adobe Creative Suite a plus)
- Must understand digital production and social media integration
- Must possess a keen eye for visual design
- Must possess very strong written, research and oral communications skills
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, patiently and persuasively with the widest possible variety of people
- Strong ability to work under tight deadlines with pressure to incorporate fresh elements into a weekly show
