DESCRIPTION

CREATIVE SERVICES ASSISTANT

The Creative Services Assistant is responsible for sending paid commercials to master control and overseeing all closed captioning of local programs and paid programs and assisting with other department needs as necessary. This is an entry level position.

 

Essential duties & responsibilities: 

 

1. Pulls commercials from various sources.
2. Monitors quality of commercials and adjusts audio and other elements as necessary to maintain good quality.
3. Send commercials to master control and ensures that commercials make it into the system properly.
4. Works with the Sales Department, Master Control and our closed captioning service company to oversee and organize all local closed captioning.
5. Edits commercials and paid programs as necessary to add closed captioning. 

6. Produces text videos for digital use.

7. Reports equipment problems and ensures that repairs are made, and makes emergency repairs to equipment  when necessary and possible.

8. Assists with occasional promotional events which may include nights and/or weekends. 
9. Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB EXPERIENCE

Work experience and education required for position: 

1. Some college or related experience in broadcasting is a plus. 
2. Fluency in English. 
3. Good communication/grammar skills. 
4. Experience with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment. 
5. Experience with in non-linear editing, Adobe Premiere Pro a plus.
6. Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

REQUIREMENTS

Physical Demands & Work Environment: 

The Creative Services Assistant must be able to stand, sit, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, work in close proximity to others, work outdoors in all weather conditions, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. In addition, the Commercial Producer must be able to lift, set up and operate equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, and be able to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls. Repetitive movements are required. Work may be conducted in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions.
