Position Title: Master Control Operator

Status: Full-time, non-exempt

About us: NonStop Local KHQ is the Inland Northwest’s leader in local news, weather and sports coverage on television and digital platforms! Affiliated with the NBC network, KHQ is the flagship station of KHQ Incorporated and Cowles Montana Media.

What you’ll be doing: KHQ-TV has an opening for a full-time Master Control Operator. The Master Control Operator monitors on air and cable broadcast signals, records programs from satellite feeds for later use, sets up and airs programs and program break per program log, ingests media from various sources for air or office use, monitors and controls transmitter output, maintains transmitter logs and discrepancy logs, and assists with traffic and on-air promotion.

What you will contribute to the team: Applicants preferred to have knowledge of broadcast equipment and procedures. Computer experience is required. Must be available to work flexible hours including holidays, nights, weekends, and overnights. Must also be a team player, work well under pressure, be able to multi-task, have attention to detail, a positive attitude and a work ethic based on honesty and integrity.

College degree preferred. High School Diploma & broadcast experience is preferred.
