DESCRIPTION

KTVO in Kirksville, MO has an immediate opening for a creative Digital Content Producer! The candidate should have experience writing and producing news content for the web and social media. In this role you will be responsible for day-to-day digital news content, working closely with the news managers and digital news manager to make sure all digital platforms are up-to-date, accurate and compelling.

REQUIREMENTS

KTVO has an immediate opening for a creative Digital Content Producer!

In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day digital offerings on our website and social media platforms. This position will also work closely with the producers, digital news manager, news director, content center and anchors on website, video, and social media content. In this position you will work with management and on-air staff to generate and write stories and develop content for our website. This position will also help with cultivating content, answering viewer emails and phone calls.

The ideal candidate will have:

Solid news judgment
Be a compelling and accurate writer
Be able to multitask and manage time in order to put together an exciting and informative selection of digital stories and social media content
Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment
Strong leadership and communication skills
The ability to execute news strategies and goals
Flexibility and on-the-spot problem solving abilities are a must
Understanding of non-linear editing (i.e. Avid) and newsroom systems, such as iNews

Experience:

Must have at least some previous news experience, although the right entry-level candidate may be considered
A Journalism degree is preferred, but not necessary
