DESCRIPTION

Ozarks First in Springfield, MO, is hiring a full-time
newscast producer for our weekend and weeknight newscasts. We are looking for
someone who understands time management and can handle deadline stress. You
must have a passion for writing and storytelling. And it’s incredibly important
that you are a team player and a collaborator.

The producer builds the rundown, writes news scripts, edits the
video, creates graphics, communicates with the team, and times the broadcast.
Anyone who wants to be considered for the role must be willing to work both
Saturday and Sunday nights.

JOB EXPERIENCE

Take
an active role in daily editorial discussions
Select
stories and organize them into a cohesive sequence
Clear,
concise, conversational writing skills
Copyedit
stories and spellcheck graphics
Write
creative headlines and teases
Edits
video and sound
Adjust
a rundown to add breaking news
Manage
the newscast from our control room
Communicate
effectively with anchors, multi-media journalists, photographers,
meteorologists, sports, digital, news managers, production, and
engineering staff

REQUIREMENTS

Fluency
in English with strong spelling and grammar
Learning
all our computer systems and programs
Ability
to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks
Flexibility
to work any shift, with some late notice of shift and schedule changes

Education: Bachelor’s degree in journalism,
communications, or related field or equivalent combination of education and
work experience.
