DESCRIPTION
WATE TV is looking to hire a full-time news video editor/photographer. This offer includes competitive pay and benefits.
Video Editor/Photographer
- Operates editing equipment to produce images or scenes primarily for morning and midday newscasts and other programming.
· Gathers and organizes raw and edited video into files according to scripts or instructions for newscasts and other programming
· Reviews all video for accuracy and adherence to station standards
· Shoot video in the field, including interviews. This can be solo or with a reporter.
• Operate live equipment in the field, including live backpacks and ENG/SNG
vehicles
· Determines the specific audio and visual effects necessary to complete stories
· Sets up and operates computer editing systems, electronic titling systems, video switching equipment, and digital video effects units to produce a final product
· Selects and combines the most effective shots of each scene to form a logical and smoothly running story
· Confers with other personnel to discuss assignments, work product and desired effects
· Maintains editing equipment
- Must have strong organizational skills, ability to work independently and able to handle multiple assignments under deadline
• Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements & Skills:
· High school diploma
· Fluency in English
· Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
· Minimum two years’ experience operating video editing equipment
· Proficiency with video editing equipment
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
