DESCRIPTION

Connecticut's #1 station is looking for a Senior Producer to launch and produce our new 9AM show.  In this supervisory role, you're the editorial leader for the 9AM newscast and you will oversee the NOON newscast.

The Senior Producer makes coverage decisions, ensures brand adherence and executes our overall newsroom strategic plan.  Works with producers to craft rundowns and newscasts.  Teaches and trains line producers.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Experience using INews a plus
-Ability to work a flexible work schedule and work as a member of a team
-Must possess advanced understanding of newscast presentation
-Must possess excellent writing and graphics skills with ability to provide an interesting and substantive product
-Must be results oriented
-Ability to focus on coordination of daily and long-range segments from first contact to on-air product
-Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
-Ability to work in a creative, fast paced environment
-Ability to make quick decisions without losing composure
-Must be able to manage multiple projects and assignments simultaneously
-Previous experience with script writing and editorial experience preferred
-% Travel Required (Approximate): 10%


JOB EXPERIENCE

Qualifications and Job Requirements

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field or equivalent training and/or experience.


Experience:

3+ years experience as a newscast producer.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

-Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule including holidays and weekend
-Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
-Effective and professional verbal and written communication skills
-Script writing and editorial experience is preferred
-Ability to work respectfully and effectively in a creative, fast-paced environment
-Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
-Must be able to multi-task and manage multiple projects and assignments simultaneously
– A full appreciation for the media industry, its demands and sudden changes
-% Travel Required (Approximate): 10%
