The Reporter collects, analyzes, and presents facts about newsworthy events by interview, investigation, or observation for all platforms in a manner that is clear, engaging, and meaningful to news consumers.
JOB EXPERIENCE
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Reports news stories for broadcast and digital Writing
- Superior on-air presence and strong social media presence
- Pitches stories relevant to the local community
- Shoots, writes, and edits news reports
- Ensures that all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality
- Interacts with viewers/users on social media sites
- Performs special projects and other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field
- Fluency in English
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to ad lib when required
- Creative, excellent writer, willing to learn and be a team player
- Develop great live skills
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
