We are looking for a News Producer to lead our 4 p.m. newscast, someone who brings passion, creativity and a dynamic energy to a show with personality.

We’re looking for someone who likes to take risks and produce newscasts that are interesting, engaging, and enlightening. You’ll lead a fun and creative team with stories that run the gamut – news, sports, and entertainment. The producer will help pick reporter stories for their show. They’ll find interesting guests on a variety of topics including politics, health, wellbeing, and sports. It’s an exciting opportunity to work with two anchors who are passionate for and engaged with the newscast. You’ll have a plethora of resources including reporter stories, writing help, and long-form features.

The ideal producer is a problem-solver who loves journalism. They work well with a team but are also independent and self-motivated. They can balance storytelling with hard news and have a passion to make their community the best it can be.

Pay range: $26-$32/hour


  • Line produce a daily, hour-long newscast Monday through Friday
  • React to breaking news and manage the newscast’s timing
  • Showcase big stories of the day in a creative and engaging way
  • Demonstrate strong news judgement and understand the basics of journalism
  • Have a voice in the content and direction for 9News at 4
  • Be a leader in the newsroom




  • College degree in journalism, communications or something similar
  • 2+ years full-time newscast producing experience
  • Travel: Rarely: less than 10%
  • Work Environment Set: Office: normally performed in a typical interior/office environment
  • Physical Demands Set: Sedentary work: Involves sitting most of the time; walking, lifting, bending, standing, etc.
