WFSB is Connecticut's number one source for news. Located in Rocky Hill, Eyewitness News is Connecticut's leader for breaking news, weather and community coverage. WFSB is looking for an early morning anchor for our 4:30am newscast. This person will also serve as a breaking news anchor for our 5-7am newscast and our digital, social and OTT platforms. Enterprise and in-depth reporting for other time periods are also part of the job. Must be active and engaged on social media.
Duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
– Ability to work in a creative, fast paced environment
– Ability to make quick decisions without losing composure
– Must be able to manage multiple projects and assignments simultaneously
– Previous experience with script writing and editorial experience preferred
Education – Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications or related field or equivalent training and/or experience
Experience – Two years’ experience in broadcast journalism preferred. Experience reporting news and/or newscast producing at a commercial television station preferred.
