We are looking for an energetic, engaging, and personable anchor to help lead our growing audience in the mornings on our 41/2-hour morning newscast. The successful candidate is a team player and leader with excellent interviewing skills, and a proven ability to skillfully ad-lib in any live situation. As the morning anchor team leader, you should understand that the job doesn’t end when we're off the air. - Writing web stories, headlines, and news updates.
- Fill-in anchoring duties on other newscasts as needed.
- Develop and maintain a network of news sources providing access to exclusive local news stories.
- MMJ field work, as needed.
- Perform various community service activities for the station, including attending community events, performing as master of ceremonies for public service events, and as host/hostess for station events.
Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism or related degree or equivalent years of experience.
- Minimum two years' experience in news reporting or anchoring. (More or less depending on market size.)
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
